Paraclete 37, Twentynine Palms 14--Freshman Curtis Brown rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns in 18 carries for the Spirits at Twentynine Palms.
Brown broke a 14-14 tie late in the second quarter with a 43-yard touchdown run that gave Paraclete (11-1) the lead for good.
John McMurtry kicked a 34-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter to extend Paraclete’s lead to 24-14. Brown put the game out of reach with a two-yard scoring run midway through the fourth quarter.
Paraclete, which amassed 456 yards, won for the 21st time in 22 games.
Rob Fockaert completed 12 of 15 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown for the Spirits.
Paraclete forced four turnovers and shut out the Wildcats (5-7) in the second half. Defensive back Jordan Aquino intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble for Paraclete.
