MARMONTE LEAGUE
Royal 34, Agoura 23--Eddie Knips, filling in for the injured Randy Plue, rushed for 173 yards and a touchdown in 14 carries and the Highlanders won their first league game at Royal.
Knips, a starting linebacker, dashed 59 yards for a touchdown on Royal’s first possession of the second half to give the Highlanders (2-5, 1-3) a 21-17 lead.
Royal’s ground game gained 291 yards. Steve Sheehan ran for 121 yards in 21 carries and scored on a pair of four-yard runs. He opened Royal’s scoring with a 13-yard touchdown reception.
Garrett Lepisto had nine receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown for Agoura (3-4, 0-3). He also returned an interception 85 yards for a touchdown. Ryan Antzoulatos rushed for 81 yards in 13 carries.
Nick Campanelli returned an interception 45 yards for Royal’s final touchdown with 1:18 to play.
