Crescenta Valley 43, Hoover 6--Seth Santoro completed eight of 11 passes for 190 yards and four touchdowns at Glendale High.
Steve Carballo scored three touchdowns, including two punt returns covering 78 and 49 yards. He caught a 42-yard scoring pass from Santoro in the first quarter.
The Falcons (4-3, 1-1) led, 43-0, at halftime despite running only 14 plays. The longest scoring drive was 88 yards in six plays.
Crescenta Valley held Hoover (0-7, 0-1) to 133 yards. Tornado quarterback Daniel Shepard completed one of seven passes for six yards.
Hoover avoided a shutout on a 38-yard touchdown run by Jason Young with 4:05 to play. Young finished with 66 yards in 17 carries.
