Animal Refuge to Visit Residents Group

Share

Taking a break from the usual residential concerns and political speakers, members of the Studio City Residents Assn. are planning something a little more “wild” at their Tuesday meeting.

Families are welcome as officials from the Wildlife Waystation, an animal refuge in the Angeles National Forest, present several exotic animals in their care.

Although the specific animals to be presented have not yet been announced, the wildlife refuge houses and cares for everything from bobcats and jaguars to opossums, reptiles and many species of birds.

Officials from the waystation will also speak about their work as a nonprofit holding, rehabilitation and medical center for wild and exotic animals.

Founded in 1976, the Wildlife Waystation is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, relocation and return of native and exotic animals back into the wild whenever possible.

The residents’ association meeting will also have presentations on projects and issues directly relevant to Studio City.

CBS Studio Center President Michael Klausman will give an update on studio construction and expansion. A report on a proposed auto parts strip mall on Ventura Boulevard east of Colfax Avenue will also be given.

Los Angeles Police Officer John Caprarelli will present an update on crime and safety in Studio City.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the CBS Studio Center, 4024 Radford Ave. For more information on association activities, call (818) 509-0230.
