Power Rangers, Not Power Hitting

Although Fox will show today’s Cincinnati-St. Louis game to 61% of the country, it will not be televised by Channel 11 in Los Angeles.

If McGwire had homered Friday night, Channel 11 would have had the option to show it as part of a baseball doubleheader. But a Fox spokesman said the station would not have preempted its Saturday morning cartoon programming, including a “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” marathon, to show the game.

Channel 11 will show only the Dodgers and San Francisco Giants at 1 p.m.

If McGwire still has 59 homers after today’s game, Sunday’s Red-Cardinal game will be televised at 11 a.m. by ESPN2. If he has 60 or 61, it will be by Fox at 1 p.m., after NFL football.
