NEW YORK — Coronado’s Quest, winner of the Travers Stakes and bidding for an Eclipse Award as the top 3-year-old, will be retired in two months and syndicated for as much as $15 million.
Stuart Janney III, a breeder who owns Coronado’s Quest, said Thursday the colt is to run in the Woodward Stakes at Belmont on Sept. 19 and then the Breeders’ Cup Classic at Churchill Downs on Nov. 7. The Cigar Mile three weeks later at Belmont is still under consideration.
After that, Coronado’s Quest is off to a breeding career at Claiborne Farm in Kentucky.
