Friedman, 71, who coached the Golden Knights from 1953-1965 and again from 1969-1978, led St. Francis to Southern Section championships in 1963 and 1964 and nine league titles.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at St. Bedes Church in La Canada at 10 a.m.

Given the go: Reseda’s Manuel Lennon was granted a waiver Monday to Rule 204-B by the City Section’s Interscholastic Athletics Committee, making him immediately eligible to play football for the Regents, Commissioner Barbara Fiege said.
