La Canada 15, Glendale 0--What a difference six days made for the La Canada High football team.

After a lopsided 32-3 loss to Whittier, the Spartans responded by shutting out Glendale behind running back Chet Johnson-Blasucci and quarterback Nathan Dane.

Johnson-Blasucci caught two passes for 54 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 40 yards in 10 carries. Dane completed eight of 16 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.

La Canada (1-1) took advantage of good field position for all of its scores. Starting from the Glendale 41 on their first possession, the Spartans drove 25 yards in 10 plays and settled for a 32-yard field goal by Chris Stone.

Following an interception by Orlando Sanchez midway through the first quarter, La Canada made it 9-0 two plays later on a 30-yard pass from Dane to Johnson-Blasucci.

The Spartans drove 53 yards for their final points in the third quarter, scoring on a 13-yard pass by Dane that was deflected by Glendale’s Alan Skaf into the arms of Danny Olson in the end zone.

Glendale (1-1) struggled on offense without starting quarterback Carlos Gutierrez, who missed the game because of the flu. In his absence, Sang Lee completed only one of 10 passes for 10 yards and had three passes intercepted.

The Dynamiters were limited to 114 yards offense.
