Edison Captures Consolation Title

Kyle Tague scored seven goals and Bob Wolfe made 13 saves, leading Edison to a 14-9 victory over Burbank Burroughs in the consolation final of the Long Beach Millikan water polo tournament.

Edison (3-3) defeated Fullerton, 14-10, in the consolation semifinals. Tague scored six goals and Shaun Carmen scored five against Fullerton (1-2).

Trabuco Hills 9, Long Beach Millikan 8 (OT)--Jay Hutchcraft scored four goals in the consolation game and Jim Reideler had two for Trabuco Hills (2-4). Reideler had three goals in a second consolation game that the Mustangs lost, 16-9, to La Crescenta Crescenta Valley.

In the Riverside Poly tournament:

La Habra 15, Redlands East Valley 4--Nathan Allard scored 11 goals to lead La Habra to a 15-4 victory. Kareen Captain scored two goals and Rob Ramirez and Josh Jewett each scored one. Goalkeeper Ken Caldwell made nine saves. In another consolation game, the Highlanders defeated Simi Valley Royal, 13-7.

In a nonleague game:

Marina 15, Santa Barbara 10--Justin Fassnacht scored seven goals and Jeff Larson scored six to lead Marina (3-1), ranked eighth in Orange County. Marina’s Mark Armstrong made 14 saves.
