Lobos’ Defense and Three-Ton Gift Can’t Be Rocked
- Share via
Littlerock High Coach Jim Bauer, center, rarely takes defense for granite.
Perhaps that’s why the Lobos (2-0) have been as solid as the three-ton rock that sits in front of their stadium entrance.
The Lobos have allowed only 126 yards per game, best among Southern Sections schools in the region, and 15 points, thanks in part to linebackers Mike Arvizo, left, and Adam Fabela, right. Last year, they each broke the school record for tackles and combined for 275.
The rock, as well as the plaque embedded in it, were gifts from the school’s class of ’98 and unveiled at the Lobos’ season opener Sept. 11.
