SEASON AT A GLANCE: Jackson, the defending Southern Section Masters Meet champion in the long jump, has been one of the most versatile athletes in the region with bests of 24-3 1/2 in the long jump, 45-4 in the triple jump, 50.8 in the 400 meters, 15.3 in the 110 high hurdles and 39.9 in the 300 intermediates.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Jackson won the long jump with a school-record leap of 24-3 1/2 in the Arcadia Invitational on Saturday. The mark was the best in the nation this year, tied Jackson for second on the all-time Ventura County list and tied him for seventh on the all-time region list. “That was a great win,” Royal Coach Don Reyes said. “There were several college coaches sitting in the crowd saying, ‘Who is this kid?’ ”

SEASON AT A GLANCE: The Times’ Valley pitcher of the year in 1998, LeCocq has recovered from a dislocated shoulder earlier in the season to build a 5-2 record playing one of the region’s most demanding schedules.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: LeCocq struck out 32, walked two and allowed five hits in 32 innings at the Righetti tournament. She hurled a no-hitter in a 1-0 victory over Westlake, defeated the region’s No. 1-ranked team, Newbury Park, 2-1, and combined with a teammate for a no-hitter against Lompoc Cabrillo. In her only loss, LeCocq threw a two-hitter in a 2-0 loss to nationally-ranked Fresno Bullard. In addition, LeCocq homered in a 3-1 victory over Simi Valley.
