No. 9 Foothill 13, Canyon 5--Sophomores Andrew Finley and Seth Goodman battled to win a tiebreaker set (15-13) in the No. 3 doubles spot for Foothill (1-2, 8-0).

In the Freeway League:

Sonora 16, Fullerton 2--No. 1 seed Stephen Tam swept in singles, 6-0, 7-5, 6-1 for Sonora (9-8, 5-3).

In the Garden Grove League:

La Quinta 14, Pacifica 4--Seniors Quan Chau and Matthew Tong surrendered only two games to sweep in doubles for La Quinta (15-1, 11-0).

In the Golden West League:

Saddleback 10, Ocean View 8--Thach Dinh and James Vuong won their final doubles set, 7-5, to clinch the victory for visiting Saddleback (10-6, 7-3), which finished second in league. Rafael Nieto swept in singles, 6-0, 6-3, 6-4, for Saddleback.

No. 10 Servite 12, Santa Ana 6--Brock Heimann and Pat Buchanan swept in singles to help visiting Servite (16-3, 10-0) win its fifth consecutive league title. Servite has lost only one league match in the past five years.

In the South Coast League:

Capistrano Valley 15, Mater Dei 3--Junior Michael Nguyen improved to 34-5 in singles for Capistrano Valley (14-2, 6-1) as he won three sets without losing a game.

Mission Viejo 12, Trabuco Hills 6--Ali Nourbakhsh swept, 6-3, 6-1, 6-0, to lead host Mission Viejo (8-9, 4-3). Trabuco Hills is 1-6 in league.

In the Sunset League:

No. 2 Los Alamitos 17, Huntington Beach 1--Phillip Davidson didn’t lose a game in singles for Los Alamitos (15-1, 8-0).

Esperanza 13, Marina 5--Kris Adams and Noah Sakamoto swept in doubles, 6-0, 6-2, 6-2, at the Yorba Linda Country Club for Esperanza (10-8, 4-4.

In Empire League badminton:

No. 3 Cypress 11, Loara 8--Megan Wong teamed up with Melisa Kiang and Michelle Kuo and her partner Victoria Tran swept in doubles to lead Cypress (13-3, 9-1) to its first league championship in 19 years.

In nonleague baseball:

Orange Lutheran 6, Garden Grove 3--Orange Lutheran’s Mark Courvoisier hit his fifth home run for Orange Lutheran (6-12, 2-5).

In Orange League boys’ track and field:

Magnolia 78, Western 61--Asi Faoa finished first in the shotput (53-9) and discus (160-0) for Magnolia (3-2 in league).

In Freeway League girls’ track:

Troy 82, Sunny Hills 44--Katrina Go won the 100 yards (12.0) and 220 (27.1) for host Troy (11-0, 5-0).

In the Garden Grove League:

Pacifica 94, Santiago 29--Christine Krause, Sandra Barrera and Sarah Nunes led Pacifica, each earning dual victories in individual competition. With the victory, Pacifica remains undefeated in league competition at 6-0.

In the Orange League:

No. 6 Brea Olinda 114, Anaheim 22--Kendra Canape won the high jump with a 5-3 mark to help Brea (6-2, 5-0) earn its 65th consecutive league victory.

In Century League boys’ volleyball:

Foothill 3, Canyon 0--Matt Daniels had 15 kills to lead Foothill (8-4, 7-1) to a 15-7, 15-4, 15-9, victory. Jeff Minhas had 13 kills for host Canyon (5-9, 4-4).

Villa Park 3, El Modena 1--Sonny Ueligitone had 23 kills and Carlo Celeste had 48 assists for Villa Park, which won 15-13, 15-10, 11-15, 15-13. The Spartans are 4-8, 4-4.

In the Golden West League:

Tustin 3, Saddleback 0--Kevin Kowalski had 17 kills and eight blocks and William Diep had 12 blocks for Tustin (7-6, 5-4), which won, 15-6, 15-7, 15-1.
