The Clippers renounced their rights to free-agent center Stojko Vrankovic, 35, who played in two games last season, scoring two points and grabbing six rebounds.

Vrankovic came to the Clippers from Minnesota on June 25, 1997, in a trade for center Stanley Roberts.

The Milwaukee Bucks, who lost free agents Michael Curry and Del Curry last week, will not renew the contract of general manager Bob Weinhauer, who joined the team in 1997 from Houston. . . . Guards Andre Miller and Trajan Langdon--the Cleveland Cavaliers’ eighth and 11th draft picks out of Utah and Duke, respectively--signed contracts with the team. . . . The Toronto Raptors re-signed center Michael Stewart, who averaged only 9.4 minutes a game, to a six-year, $24-million contract, leaving the team with about $6 million in salary-cap room to offer Charles Oakley. Toronto has been reportedly discussing numerous sign-and-trade deals involving Oakley, with the Lakers and Indiana Pacers believed to be the leading contenders to acquire Oakley. . . . Forward Chris Crawford, who played sparingly for the Atlanta Hawks last season until LaPhonso Ellis was injured, signed a seven-year, $19-million contract with the team. Crawford averaged 6.9 points in 42 games. . . . Bill Berry, an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets during their two NBA title seasons, was hired for the same position with the Chicago Bulls.
