In the City of Palms (Fla.) tournament:

No. 1 Mater Dei 50, Jacksonville (Fla.)Ribault 48--Steve Scoggin’s 17 points, including four three-pointers, helped the Monarchs (10-0) advance to the semifinals. Jamal Sampson had eight points and nine rebounds for Mater Dei.

In the Bullhead City (Ariz.) tournament:

El Toro 75, Pitt Meadows (Calgary, Canada) 55--Ashkan Nazeri had 17 points and six assists and Matt Green added six points and eight rebounds for the Chargers (10-4).

Magnolia 56, Ponderosa (Colo.) 53--Geoffrey Clayton (21 points) made eight straight free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Sentinels (12-1) earn their 12th straight victory. Magnolia overcame a five-point deficit in the fourth quarter. The Sentinels play El Toro for the championship today.

Mission Viejo 62, San Diego Ramona 60--Francis Ireifej (20 points) made a basket with four seconds left to lift the Diablos (6-7) in the quarterfinal game. Mykel Valentine scored 16 points for Mission Viejo, which overcame an 18-point deficit in the second half. The Diablos, who beat Mountain View (Ariz.), 55-48, in the consolation semifinals, play San Diego San Pasqual in the consolation final today.

In the Lahainaluna (Hawaii) tournament:

Newport (Wash.) 48, Fullerton 43--Akachi Azubuike scored 11 points for Fullerton (8-2), which plays University (Hawaii) today in a consolation game. Newport (6-1) went on a 13-5 run to start the game.

In the Trabuco Hills tournament:

No. 6 Santa Margarita 62, Carson 55--R.J. Socci scored 13 points and Lenny Collins added 12 as Santa Margarita nearly lost a 22-point halftime lead before holding on to win the championship game.

Canyon 75, Van Nuys Montclair Prep 66--The Comanches (4-4) made a tournament-record 17 three-pointers. Tournament MVP Jamal Taylor scored 29 points (eight three-pointers), and Travis Klein scored 22 points (six three-pointers). Derron Putnum scored 18 points (three three-pointers) for Canyon, which plays Campbell Hall for seventh place today. In an earlier game, Canyon beat El Dorado, 62-56.

Costa Mesa 63, Trabuco Hills 59--Nathan Jones scored 23 points and Ryan Naff had 11 as Costa Mesa rallied from a five- point deficit after three quarters to win the third-place game.

Trabuco Hills’ Evan Fields led all scorers with 30 points.

Estancia 71, Huntington Beach 46--Jon Cantrell had 21 points and connected on four three-pointers for Estancia (7-3).
