Irvine Valley Wins in Tennis

Irvine Valley’s top five singles players won in straight sets and helped the Lasers to an 8-1 victory over Mt. San Antonio in nonconference women’s tennis Tuesday.

Tracy Larrimer and Mai Huynh each won, 6-0, 6-0. Jennifer Bryson and Etsuka Asakawa each won 7-5, 6-2. In doubles, Tammy Crable and Mika Kinoshito teamed up for a 6-7, 6-4, 6-2, victory for Irvine Valley (1-0).

Mt. San Antonio, which defaulted one singles match and one doubles match, earned a point on a doubles victory by Lois Alexandrescu and Jamie Shellenberger.

In nonconference men’s tennis:

Golden West 9, Grossmont 0--Jason Kasner and Tony Pascoe moved from the No. 2 position to No. 1 and swept in doubles, 6-2, 6-1, for host Golden West (2-0).
