Seraphs Wait Till Last to Take First

Stacey Howard scored 12 of her 20 points in the fourth quarter when St. Bonaventure rallied to beat Carpinteria, 52-38, and take sole possession of first place in the Tri-Valley League on Thursday night at Carpinteria.
Howard hit a three-point basket and made five of six free throws in the fourth quarter and the Seraphs (13-9, 6-2 in league play) outscored the Warriors, 26-8, to overcome a 30-26 deficit after three quarters.
Shannon Fink scored 14 points for the Seraphs.
High-scoring Sarah Grieve of Carpinteria (11-10, 5-3) fouled out early in the fourth quarter.
Buena 63, Santa Barbara 57--Kelly Greathouse and Kelly Murray each scored 10 of their 20 points in the fourth quarter and the Bulldogs rallied from a 14-point third-quarter deficit to clinch the Channel League title at Santa Barbara.
Courtney LaVere had 13 points and six rebounds for The Times’ top-ranked Bulldogs (20-3, 7-0), who have won at least a share of the title for 11 consecutive seasons.
Oxnard 55, Hueneme 47--Memory Rhone scored 14 points for the Yellowjackets (12-13, 6-1) in a Pacific View League victory at Oxnard.
Christina Harmeson scored 23 points for Hueneme (8-14, 1-5).
Quartz Hill 51, Highland 44--Stefanie Wigfall made six free throws in the fourth quarter, including three of four in the final minute, to help the Rebels (7-12, 4-4) hold off Highland in a Golden League game at Highland.
Lannette Richardson scored 14 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter for Quartz Hill (7-12, 4-4).
BOYS’ GAMES
L.A. Baptist 63, Paraclete 56--Evan Regenstreif scored 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Knights in an Alpha League victory at Paraclete (8-14, 3-3).
Daniel Acuna added 14 points for the Knights (9-13, 5-2).
Glenn Jones and David Brown each scored 12 for the Spirits (8-14, 3-3).
Stoneridge Prep 56, Santa Clarita Christian 44--Sammy Delrahim had 34 points and six steals, and the Tigers (2-10) won a nonleague victory at Santa Clarita Christian.
Village Christian 61, Kilpatrick 55--Aaron Maxwell scored 28 points for the Crusaders in an Alpha League victory at Village Christian.
Paul Tait set a school record for Village Christian (8-12, 2-4) with 376 rebounds in his career.
