Three armed robbery suspects were arrested on the Ventura Freeway after they tossed wads of cash out the window of their car as it was being chased by deputies, authorities said.

Harold Robertson, 45, of San Pedro and Victor Arnold, 41, of Inglewood were being held Monday night in lieu of $50,000 bail each.

Rosewood resident Dexter Walker, 42, was being held in lieu of $65,000 bail, an amount that includes a $15,000 warrant for driving without a license, a sheriff’s deputy at the jail said.

The three men were arrested shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday after an armed robbery at the Rendezvous Restaurant in Newbury Park, Sheriff’s Det. Ernie Montagna said.

Robbers, one armed with a handgun, entered a back door at the eatery in the 1200 block of Newbury Park just before closing time and stole an undisclosed sum of money from an office before fleeing, Montagna said.

A description of the getaway car was broadcast to authorities, who spotted the suspects’ vehicle in the freeway’s southbound lanes near Westlake Boulevard, Montagna said.

During a brief chase by deputies that ended in Lost Hills in Los Angeles County, the suspects threw the cash onto the freeway, Montagna said. Deputies and California Highway Patrol officers retrieved some of the cash.
