Baylor Wins 3 Events as Golden West Sweeps

Calvin Baylor, a sophomore from Lakewood High, won three events as Golden West beat Santa Ana and Saddleback in an Orange Empire Conference men’s track meet Thursday at Santa Ana.

The Rustlers had 127 points, Santa Ana 125 and Saddleback 83.

Baylor won the 200 meters in 22.7 seconds and the 400 in 50.7 seconds. He also finished first in the long jump at 21 feet 10 1/2 inches.

John Sanders, a freshman from Fountain Valley, won the 100 in 11.05.

Orange Coast wins--Zoila Gomez won the 1,500 and 3,000 meters as the Pirates (154) beat Fullerton (110) and San Diego Mesa (37) in Costa Mesa.
