* LONG BEACH STATE (10-12, 7-5) at CAL POLY SAN LUIS OBISPO (9-13, 4-7), 2--After starting off 4-1 in the Big West, their best start since the 1992-93 season, the 49ers have struggled, going 3-4 in their last seven conference games.

* MONTANA STATE (13-10, 7-5) at CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (14-9, 6-5), 7--The Matadors’ five-game winning streak was snapped by Montana at home Thursday, and they need a victory in their home finale to sustain any hopes of finishing first or second and earning a bye in the Big Sky Conference tournament. Montana State center Nate Holmstadt is third in the conference in scoring (19.7 points) and rebounding (7.8).
