Irvine Valley 61, MiraCosta 50--Ben Esplin scored 14 points as 11th-seeded Irvine Valley (23-9) won at home. The Lasers advance to meet the winner of tonight’s game between No. 27 Fullerton and No. 6 Glendale.
Hancock 86, Santa Ana 84--Sophomore Chris Mattice scored a career-high 45 points for Santa Ana (21-11). He made six of 12 three-pointers and was 15 of 24 from the field and nine of 12 on free throws.
In Southern California women’s playoffs:
Santa Ana 85, Mt. San Antonio 57--Stephanie Patten had 28 points and 16 rebounds and Rochelle Anthony scored 26 and got 14 rebounds as host Santa Ana (22-9) won its first playoff game in 13 years.
The Dons play at No. 8-seeded Canyons (20-9) on Tuesday.
Fullerton 82, Moorpark 65--Chris Payne had 22 points and 11 rebounds for host Fullerton (19-12), which advances to play No. 1 seed Ventura (28-3) Tuesday.
Rio Hondo 78, Golden West 60--Rio Hondo (26-7) went on a 16-0 first-half run to take a 29-12 lead. Amy Pace had 18 points for Golden West (10-21).
