Cleveland 70, Hamilton 64--Brian Smith scored 15 of his 22 points in the first half to help the Cavaliers (10-4) take a 12-point lead in a nonconference game at Cleveland.

Three Cleveland starters, including Kent Dennis, did not play after missing a practice this week.

It was the second time in five games that at least three Cavalier players were held out of a game for violating team rules.

Hart 54, Palmdale 46--Liam Waters scored 30 points for the Indians in a nonleague victory at Hart.

Waters scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, helping Hart (7-5) pull away.

Littlerock 66, Valencia 46--Gene Myvett had 17 points and eight steals for the Lobos (13-2) in a nonleague victory at Valencia (7-8).

GIRLS’ GAMES

Notre Dame 59, Chaminade 22--Sierra Hauser-Price had 20 points and five steals for the Knights in a Mission League opener at Notre Dame.

Nikki Imaromna and K.K. Barwick each had five steals for the Notre Dame (10-7), which held Chaminade to eight field goals.

Harvard-Westlake 64, Louisville 28--Omelogo Udeze had 18 points and Brooke Porter scored 17 for the No. 6 Wolverines (15-3, 1-0) in a Mission League opener at Louisville (7-4, 0-1).

Crescenta Valley 65, Burroughs 35--The No. 2 Falcons used a full-court press for three quarters to force 31 turnovers in a nonleague victory at Burroughs.

Kelly Paige had 15 points and eight rebounds for Crescenta Valley (13-2), and Kristie Umemoto contributed 11 points and six of the Falcons’ 13 steals.

North Hollywood 61, Rio Mesa 48--Markia Derby had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Huskies in an intersectional victory at North Hollywood.

Tashean Thomas scored 12 of her 14 points in fourth quarter for North Hollywood (10-4) after playing sparingly as a reserve in the first half because of disciplinary reasons.

The Huskies, ranked No. 9, took a 36-34 lead late in the third quarter before pulling away with an 8-0 run that stretched into the fourth quarter.

Paraclete 54, Quartz Hill 43--The Spirits, with 23 points from Erika Hernandez, overcame 13 first-quarter turnovers in a nonleague game at Paraclete.

Christine Lambert added 16 points and 13 rebounds for Paraclete (8-6), which trailed Quartz Hill (3-9), at the end of the first quarter, 9-2.

Hart 41, Highland 38--The Indians rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit behind Brianna Kentfield, who scored 10 of her 13 points in the second half of a nonleague game at Highland.

Lamarra Burleson had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Highland (6-10).
