Best Prep Teams in Holiday Spirit

Some of the top boys’ and girls’ basketball teams in the Southland will celebrate the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday by participating in multi-game events today and Monday.

Today’s Double Pump Hoop Challenge at Cal State Dominguez Hills features nine boys’ games. The Dream Classic on Monday at Pauley Pavilion has seven boys’ games. The MLK Classic Monday at Cal State San Bernardino includes five girls’ games and one boys’ game.

Here are the schedules for the three events.

Double Pump Hoop Challenge (Boys): Today at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Admission: $7 adults, $5 students. 9 a.m.--Ocean View vs. Canyon; 10:30--Los Alamitos vs. West Hills Chaminade; Noon--Fontana vs. Fairfax; 1:30 p.m.--Sylmar vs. Simi Valley; 3--Verbum Dei vs. Washington Union; 4:30--Inglewood vs. Redondo Union; 6--Lakewood Artesia vs. Lakewood Mayfair; 7:30--Long Beach Jordan vs. Long Beach Poly; 9--Torrance Bishop Montgomery vs. Gardena Serra.

Dream Classic (Boys): Monday, Pauley Pavilion.
