Newbury Park Drops Thousand Oaks

Chris Williams, Cause Hanna and Casey Schmidt each scored second-half goals and Newbury Park High defeated Thousand Oaks, 3-1, in a Marmonte League boys’ soccer game at Newbury Park.

Williams tied the score, 1-1, in the 45th minute and Hanna scored the go-ahead goal on a header in the 50th minute.

The Panthers (11-4-5, 6-0-3 in league) retained their place atop the league.

Jeremy Terrell scored in the 10th minute for second-place Thousand Oaks (11-3-6, 4-2-3).

Agoura 1, Westlake 1--Ryan Woods scored on a follow shot for host Westlake (8-9-2, 3-3-2) with four minutes to playin a Marmonte League game.

Laendro Martins scored for Agoura in the 20th minute.

Valencia 2, Hart 1--Mike Brewis scored twice for Valencia (8-6-4, 4-1-1) in a Foothill League game at Hart.

Brewis scored the game-winner in the 60th minute.

Canyon 4, Burbank 2--The host Cowboys rallied from a 2-0 defict in a Foothill League game.

The Cowboys tied the score, 2-2, on Kevin Stone’s goal 10 minutes into the second half. Five minutes later, Raul Chavez put Canyon ahead.

Chaminade 3, Crespi 2--Jared Weinright, Alec deMattos and Joe Dillon each scored first-half goalsfor host Chaminade (7-10-1, 2-5) in a Mission League game.

Crespi is 6-2 in league play.

Highland 3, Littlerock 1--Eric Wright, Manny Alberto and Marvin Rodriguez each scored second-half goals for the host Bulldogs (12-4-3, 4-1-1) in a Golden League game.

Carlos Rivera scored for the Lobos (5-7-2, 1-4-1).

Reseda 2, Sylmar 1--Oscar Sims scored the decisive goal in the 62nd minute of the Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Reseda.

Jesse Servin also scored for Reseda.

Poly 3, Van Nuys 1--Miguel Luquin, Eric Calvillo and Joel Martinez each scored second-half goals for the Parrots (4-2-4, 4-2-4) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Van Nuys.

Harvard-Westlake 2, Alemany 1--Molly Cahan and Natasha Case scored for host Harvard-Westlake (14-2-1, 6-0)in a Mission League game.

Case scored the game-winner from 20 yards in the 50th minute.

Flintridge Sacred Heart 1, Notre Dame 0--Lauren Johnson scored in the 75th minute of a Mission League game at Notre Dame.

Flintridge Sacred Heart is 6-4-4, 2-4.

Valencia 3, Hart 1--Heather Zubis scored twice and host Valencia (13-3-5, 3-2) beat Hart for the first time in the Vikings’ four-year history in a Foothill League game.

Monroe 3, Reseda 0--Jordana Cail’s free kick in the first half and Zulema Mejicano’s two second-half goals lifted the host Vikings (8-4, 5-1) in a Mid-Valley League game.

Birmingham 7, Canoga Park 0--Jill Oakes scored four goals and Krissy Oakes had two in a West Valley League game at Birmingham.

St. Bonaventure 7, Bishop Diego 0--Christina Gonzalez and Jen Griffith each scored twice in a Tri-Valley League game at St. Bonaventure (14-4-1, 6-0).
