Woman Trying to Fasten Seat Belt Killed in Crash
A woman from New York was killed Saturday on the Antelope Valley Freeway after her car flipped over, the California Highway Patrol said.
An 8-year-old boy riding in the passenger seat was not injured, said CHP Officer Karen Faciane.
Edith Kirshenberg, 67, of Brooklyn died at the scene, Faciane said.
The accident occurred about 11 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Vasquez Rocks Park.
The woman was trying to fasten her seat belt when she lost control of her car, which veered onto the right shoulder of the road before it flipped, Faciane said.
