Quake Rattles Part of Riverside County
A magnitude 4.2 earthquake shook an area of Riverside County six miles northwest of Anza on Monday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The 3:09 p.m. temblor was on the San Jacinto fault, one of Southern California’s most important. But no injuries or damage were reported.
Light shaking was felt in Palm Springs, 17 miles northeast of the epicenter.
