Two recent graduates of Dorsey High School were wounded Friday afternoon when a car pulled up next to their vehicle in front of the Crenshaw district school and the occupants opened fire, police said.

Although at least a dozen gunshots were fired at close range in the apparently gang-related attack, the two men’s wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, officers said.

Investigators said the victims, whose names were not released, had been driving slowly past the front of the school on Farmdale Avenue about 4 p.m. when two men pulled up beside them in a sports car and began shooting.

Although each victim was hit once, they managed to run from their bullet-riddled car and take refuge in the school.

The assailants sped away in a late-model blue Mustang, turning east on Exposition Boulevard before disappearing in the afternoon commuter traffic.

The victims were taken to the UCLA Medical Center for treatment.

Officers said there have been 15 gang-related shootings in the area this week.
