The boys’ and girls’ soccer teams from Woodbridge, Santa Margarita and Orange Lutheran high schools will play doubleheaders Saturday in their championship finals as the Southern Section on Wednesday announced playoff sites and times for soccer and basketball.
The Division II boys’ title game between Woodbridge and Riverside Poly will begin at 2 p.m. at La Mirada High. The Division II girls’ game between Woodbridge and Newhall Hart will follow at 4 p.m.
The Division III boys’ title game between Santa Margarita and El Dorado will begin at 10 a.m. at Cerritos Gahr High. The Division III girls’ game between Santa Margarita and Valencia will follow at noon.
The Division V girls’ title game between Olympic League rivals Orange Lutheran and Ontario Christian will begin at 4 p.m. at Gahr High. The Division V boys’ game between Orange Lutheran and Carpinteria will follow at 6.
The Mission Viejo girls’ team will defend its Division I title against Claremont at 6 p.m. at La Mirada High.
Tickets for all five finals at each site are $7 for adults and $3 for children and student presales.
The girls’ basketball finals will take place Friday and Saturday at the Pyramid at Long Beach State. In Division I-A, San Clemente will meet Moreno Valley at 8:15 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday, Calvary Chapel will meet Santa Monica Crossroads for the Division IV-A title at 11:15 a.m., followed by Rosary’s game against Pomona Ganesha for the Division II-AA title at 1 p.m. Brea Olinda defends its Division II-AA title against Foothill at 6:30 p.m., and El Toro meets defending champion Palos Verdes Peninsula in the Division I-AA championship at 8:15 p.m.
In the boys’ basketball finals Saturday at the Arrowhead Pond, Orange County teams will open and close the day.
Corona del Mar meets West Hills Chaminade for the Division III-A title at 9 a.m., and Mater Dei plays Glendora for the Division I-A championship at 8:30 p.m.
