Santa Ana 11, Anaheim 8--Pitcher Lori Morales struck out six and went three for three, including one double for Santa Ana (3-4). Belinda Garcia went two for three, drove in three, and doubled in the sixth for the Saints. Freshman Maria De Leon stole two bases for Santa Ana and scored twice. Anaheim dropped to 2-2.

Savanna 7, Katella 5--Dallas Lambart and Lauren London hit back-to-back triples in the seventh inning for visitor Savanna (2-3). London drove in one runner and scored to help the Rebels overtake Katella (3-5).

Southern California Christian 11, Riverside La Sierra Academy 0 (5, mercy rule)--Pitcher Delci Huntley struck out 15, walked three in the fourth inning, and gave up no hits for SCC (3-1).

In nonleague golf:

Santa Margarita 189, Palm Desert 192--The Eagles upset the defending Southern Section Southern California Golf Assn.’s champions, Palm Desert. Sophomore Dave Hawkins was the medalist for Santa Margarita, shooting par 36 at Desert Willow in Palm Desert.

Freshman Taylor Wood finished second for Santa Margarita with a 38. The Eagles, ranked first in the county, are 3-0. Palm Desert dropped to 3-1.

Foothill 202, Los Altos 203, West Covina 205--Medalist Kevin Davis birdied the par-five ninth hole at Tustin Ranch and shot three over par for host Foothill (5-4).

In nonleague girls’ swimming:

Irvine 112, Foothill 62--Ashley Gore, Erin Zehnter, Morgan Hoestery and Sara Natalizio won events for Irvine.

Long Beach Wilson 94, Los Alamitos 75--Feliz Gumusaneli won the 100 butterfly and the 100 breaststroke for host Los Alamitos (1-1). Gumusaneli also swam on the Griffins’ winning 200 medley relay.

In nonleague boys’ tennis:

Los Alamitos 16, Foothill 2--Singles players Cody Jackson, Drew Hoskins and John Mano lost only six games for Los Alamitos (5-0). Colin Boylan and Samir Vora swept in doubles for the Griffins 6-2, 6-1, 6-1.

Servite 10, Canyon 8--Pat Buchanan swept in singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and Brock Heimann swept, 6-0, 6-2, 6-1, for Servite (3-1).

In nonleague boys’ track and field:

Westminster 74, Long Beach Millikan 55--Michael Nguyen won the triple jump (38 feet 7 inches) and the long jump (18-5) for Westminster (2-1). Nguyen also ran on the winning 400 relay for the Lions.

In nonleague boys’ volleyball:

Marina 3, Laguna Beach 2--Miles McGann had 43 kills, but Laguna Beach lost, 16-14, 15-10, 8-15, 7-15, 15-9. Laguna Beach (1-2) is ranked ninth in the preseason polls; Marina (3-0) is ranked third.
