Hart and Chaminade Fit for a 3-3 Tie in 9 Innings
Hart High, ranked fourth in the region by The Times, and No. 6 Chaminade played to a 3-3 tie in a game called after nine innings because of darkness Thursday at Chaminade Middle School.
Maureen LeCocq (1-0), who gave up seven hits and struck out six for the Eagles (1-3-1), hit a two-run triple in a three-run third inning for Chaminade (1-3-1).
Megan Patrick’s run-scoring triple and Sara Dean’s RBI single in the fourth brought Hart to within 3-2.
The Indians (4-1-1) tied the game on Nicole Delfino’s run-scoring double in the fifth.
Casey Tickard and Amanda Fortune combined on an eight-hitter for Hart, striking out four.
In other softball games:
Simi Valley 6, Moorpark 5--Brittney Green (5-0) struck out Danielle Perez with runners on first and third in the seventh-inning of a Marmonte League game at Moorpark.
Kolia Ponce’s two-run single in the top of the inning gave No. 10 Simi Valley (7-0, 2-0) a 6-4 lead.
Royal 3, Agoura 0--Amber Mills hit a two-run single and Michelle Newbold had a run-scoring single in a three-run third inning of a Marmonte League game at Rancho Simi Community Park.
Quartz Hill 4, Sultana 3--Sara Moore hit a two-out, two-run home run in the seventh to lift the No. 5 Rebels at Sultana.
Jodie Cox (8-1) pitched three hitless innings for Quartz Hill (8-1).
El Camino Real 7, Sylmar 0--Christina Enea hit a two-run home run for the Conquistadors in a nonleague game at El Camino Real. Ashley Redlin struck out nine for El Camino Real (7-2).
Oak Park 7, Santa Paula 1--Jannel Buckley drove in three runs with three hits for the Eagles (3-2-1) in a nonleague game at Santa Paula (2-1).
BOYS’ TENNIS
Harvard-Westlake 14, Campbell Hall 4--Kamyar Daneshvar and Andy Jacobi swept at No. 1 doubles and the Wolverines (7-0) won eight of nine doubles sets in a Mission League match at Studio City Golf and Tennis.
Hart 18, Keppel 0--Freshman Jesse Ferlianto (16-2) did not lose a game in sweeping three sets at No. 1 singles for the Indians in a nonleague victory at Hart.
Granada Hills 7, San Fernando 0--Anand Murthy blanked Eddie Olaque at No. 2 doubles to spark the Highlanders (5-0, 2-0) in a victory over the Tigers (2-3, 0-2) in a Northwest Valley Conference match at Granada Hills.
GOLF
St. Francis 204, Alemany 213--Tom Bellisimo shot even-par 35 for the Golden Knights (7-2, 2-1) in a Mission League victory at Porter Valley Country Club.
Hart 322, Agoura 341, Nordhoff 349--Jeff Siembeieda shot a three-under-par 58 for the Indians in a nonleague victory at Vista Valencia Golf Course.
