Santa Ana 9, Cuesta 7--Santa Ana reliever Dustin Wagoner entered with one out in the ninth and the bases loaded and got a double play on his first pitch to end the game. It was his fourth save.

Josh Shaffer had two home runs, to give him nine, and four RBIs for Santa Ana (29-17), which advances to play Saddleback at 11 today.

Aaron Davidson hit his 23rd home run for Cuesta (37-11).

Saddleback 10, Palomar 8--Chris Ridenour went two for four with three RBIs for Saddleback (33-13). Ridenour’s two-run home run in eighth gave Saddleback a 10-5 lead. Chad Concolino had a home run and drove in four for the Gauchos.

In the state softball tournament:

Saddleback 3, Long Beach 0 (11)--Nicole Brunk singled in two runs after Tracy Habiger had walked with the bases loaded and two outs in the 11th for Saddleback (37-13-1) at Colvis.

The Gauchos had beat Chabot, 4-3, with two runs in the seventh earlier. Tara Korener (31-11) pitched two complete games for Saddleback, which advances to the winners’ bracket final at 7 tonight against Orange Empire Conference rival Cypress.

Koral King hit a two-run home run in the first inning and Mandy Rockwell pitched an eight-hitter in a 2-1 victory over Palomar.

Cypress defeated Fresno, 3-1, earlier Friday.
