Field Report
Anyone who thought Hart High might miss quarterback Kyle Boller didn’t know about another Kyle with impressive passing skills.
Kyle Matter, a 6-foot-2 junior, has led Hart to a 10-0 record by throwing 41 touchdown passes. Combined with Boller’s 59 touchdown passes last season, Hart quarterbacks have delivered 100 touchdown passes in the last 24 games.
In his last two games, Matter has completed 29 of 31 passes for 542 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has a streak of 18 consecutive completions, breaking the school record of 16 set by Jim Bonds in 1986.
Matterplayed only two quarters and one second-half series Thursday against Canyon during Hart’s 55-8 victory.
