Harvard-Westlake 23, California 10--Lerato Simelane ran for a pair of touchdowns and the Wolverines pulled away in the fourth quarter at California.
Simelane scored on a two-yard run in the first quarter and added a seven-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to give Harvard-Westlake (6-5) a 14-3 lead. Eric Altschul booted a 24-yard field goal with 2:56 remaining in the quarter to put the Wolverines ahead, 17-3, at halftime.
Simelane rushed for 66 yards in nine carries before being sidelined late in the second quarter with an ankle injury.
The Condors (9-2) closed to within 17-10 early in the fourth quarter, but Richard Irvin connected with Richard Nicholson on a 73-yard pass play two minutes later to give the Wolverines some breathing room.
Irvin completed seven of 12 for 162 yards with one interception.
