De’Andre Scott finished with five touchdowns, 256 yards rushing and 166 yards receiving for visiting Alemany at Valencia High.

“When De’Andre has the ball, good things happen for us,” Alemany Coach Jim Bonds said. “He’s a great athlete and we try to put the ball in his hands as often as we can.”

The Indians took a 7-0 lead less than one minute into the game, when quarterback Casey Clausen connected with Scott for a 42-yard touchdown pass.

Six minutes later, the Aztecs tied the score, 7-7, when Louie Mares ran in the ball from three yards to finish a 78-yard drive.

Benny Mastropaolo kicked a 25-yard field goal to give the Aztecs a 10-7 lead with 9:35 remaining in the half.

However, less than a minute later, the lead was gone when Clausen again connected with Scott for a 34-yard touchdown play.

“We used De’Andre as a receiver tonight more than we have in the past,” Bonds said, “and it was a nice surprise to see him do so well.”

Scott added one more touchdown before the half on a 52-yard run to make the score 21-10.

The second half was no different as Alemany stretched the lead to 28-10 on a 29-yard touchdown run by Scott only 15 seconds into the third quarter. Less than two minutes later, the Indians extended the lead to 35-10 when Clausen connected with Derek Goodman from 28 yards for his third touchdown pass of the game.
