Los Alamitos (10-1) vs. L.A. Loyola (8-3)
7:30 TONIGHT GLENDALE HIGH
Loyola defeated Bellflower St. John Bosco, 35-0, and Los Alamitos defeated the Braves, 28-0, during the regular season, which doesn’t give a lot of insight into which team might have the upper hand in this one. Loyola’s Matt Ware, a 6-3 junior who has 1,228 yards in total offense, figures to be one of the area’s most heavily recruited players next season because of his athletic ability. He stepped in at quarterback following a mid-season injury to starter Eric McClenahan and led the Cubs, who have allowed only 103 points, to several thrilling victories. Los Alamitos has five receivers with 14 or more catches.
