Driver Crashes Car After Heart Attack
A 65-year-old Ventura man who was driving himself to the hospital because he was having chest pains early Sunday had an apparent heart attack and crashed his car on Harbor Boulevard, just west of Peninsula Street, Ventura Police Lt. David Inglis said.
Donald Lichtenberger was unconscious when paramedics arrived at the scene about 7:30 a.m. He was resuscitated and transported to Community Memorial Hospital, where his condition was not immediately available.
Lichtenberger lost control of his vehicle and crashed through a fence near a construction site, Inglis said. His car landed in a culvert.
