Royal Hits Trifecta in Overtime to Sink Agoura

Justin McClure, Derek Anderson and Mark Ellison each scored in the first overtime period and Royal High defeated Agoura, 10-7, in a Marmonte League match Friday at Agoura.
McClure scored on a five-meter shot with eight seconds to play. Anderson scored midway through overtime and Ellison scored later in the period.
Anderson scored four goals and teammate Chris Andelin had three. Matt Monaco scored four goals for Agoura (10-7, 1-1 in league play), the defending Marmonte champion.
Royal (13-4, 1-0) had won or shared 17 consecutive league championships before losing the title to Agoura last season.
Harvard-Westlake 9, San Clemente 8--Brian Ault scored six goals for Harvard-Westlake (10-2), but the Wolverines fell to the No. 3-ranked team in the Division I in a quarterfinal game of the Southern California Invitational at Irvine.
Notre Dame 15, Calabasas 11--Bobby Zych had four goals and James Brochu had 10 saves for Notre Dame in a nonleague game at Calabasas.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
CS Sacramento def. CS Northridge 10-15, 15-7, 15-5, 17-15--Laura Szymanski had 20 kills but the Matadors (4-7, 2-6 in conference) lost to the Hornets (8-6, 3-2) in a Big Sky match at Northridge.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Cal Lutheran 3, Rowan (N.J.) 0--Alia Khan scored twice in the final 90 seconds in a nonconference game at Cal Lutheran (11-1-1).
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Campbell Hall 10, Buckley 8--Melissa Nguyen swept three sets at No. 1 singles and Christine Berberian and Rubina Andonian swept at No. 2 doubles in a Delphic League match at Valley College.
