UC Santa Barbara Gets Fullove Commitment

Branduinn Fullove, a 6-foot-6 senior guard at Simi Valley High, has committed to UC Santa Barbara.
“It’s going to be a great place to go,” said Fullove, who was also recruited by Wyoming.
Fullove averaged 16.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists for Simi Valley, which reached the Southern Section Division I-A semifinals last season.
Santa Barbara, under second-year coach Bob Williams, signed B.J. Ward and Nick Jones from Santa Clara and J.J. Todd from Chaminade last season.
BASEBALL
* Adam Kennedy, a former All-American shortstop at Cal State Northridge, was selected to Baseball America magazine’s minor league all-star team at second base.
Kennedy, 23, batted .327 for Memphis of the Pacific Coast League before being promoted to the St. Louis Cardinals. He batted .255 with 10 doubles in 102 at-bats for the Cardinals.
SWIMMING
* Ian Prichard of Buena High, Travis Taylor of Crescenta Valley and Aron Gyuris of Thousand Oaks will be among 18 high school all-stars from Southern California who will race Nov. 12 in Phoenix against Arizona State and UCLA and Nov. 13 in Tucson against Arizona.
The girls’ team includes junior Amy Jones of Cleveland High, The Times’ 1999 regional swimmer of the year, Carly Geehr of Mayfield High, who lives in La Canada Flintridge, and junior Maureen Farrell of Alemany.
Jana Richardson of Ventura is an alternate.
