Don’t be misled by Hueneme’s 39-14 loss to Muir last week.

The Vikings (2-3) played without running backs Leslie Lee, Dwayne Taylor and Jason Austin, who didn’t play because of injuries.

“We would like to have [been 3-2 entering Pacific View League play],” Coach Larry Miller said. “But we felt like we really needed to have those guys healthy for the start of league.”

Lee and Taylor had ankle injuries and Austin was bothered by a strained Achilles’ tendon.

Miller said they’ll be ready to play tonight against visiting Camarillo.

Camarillo lost a defensive tackle for the rest of the season in a 44-21 loss to Buena on Oct. 1, but it was Joe Barker and not Mike Barber as previously reported.

Barker, a 6-foot-1, 235-pound senior, tore an anterior cruciate ligament against Buena.
