Montclair Prep 60, Bethel Christian 0--The Mounties (6-0) scored two touchdowns in the first minute and registered their second consecutive shutout at Valley College.

Montclair Prep took a 39-0 halftime lead. Jason Spratt, who had two interceptions, led the Mountie defense, which limited the Kings (2-4) to 82 yards and two first downs.

Reserve tailback Jerome Dennis scored touchdowns on a 21-yard run and a 67-yard pass play from Jason Goss.

Freshman Robert Lewis scored on a pair of one-yard runs and freshman Daniel Abikasis scored the final touchdown on a one-yard run. Montclair Prep substituted liberally in the second half.

Gary Sonkur was the game’s leading rusher with 112 yards in seven carries, including a 58-yard touchdown run. He also scored on a 68-yard punt return.

Serra 32, Crespi 13--The Celts (1-5) were held to nine rushing yards and 159 total yards in a loss at Crespi.

Jamie DiPoma was sacked five times for minus-52 yards and had one pass intercepted.

DiPoma completed 14 of 24 passes for 150 yards, with second-half touchdowns of three and one yard to running back Marc Salazar.

Salazar rushed for 57 yards in seven carries.

Eric McNeal completed 13 of 20 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns for Serra (1-3-1).

The Cavaliers’ Amir Rahman rushed for 156 yards in 21 carries and scored on a 32-yard run.

Crespi was hindered by the absence of running back-linebacker Donnelly Pyle, who was sidelined with a strained neck.
