Thousand Oaks Gets Back Up to Speed

Share

The Thousand Oaks High cross-country teams struggled--by their standards--during the first half of the season. That changed on Wednesday as the Lancers rolled to victories over Newbury Park and Royal in a Marmonte League meet at Waverly Park in Thousand Oaks.

Thousand Oaks, led by senior Seth Neumuller’s course record, defeated Newbury Park, 19-36, and Royal, 15-47, in the boys’ meet to finish the dual-meet season in a three-way tie for first place with Newbury Park and Agoura.

Newbury Park defeated Agoura, 26-29, earlier this season and Agoura beat Thousand Oaks, 24-31, but the two-time defending league champion Lancers had five of the top seven finishers Wednesday.

Junior Kelley Hess placed first in 18:45 to help five-time defending league champion Thousand Oaks (4-2, 4-2) take five of the top eight places.
