In the Sea View League:

No. 2 Newport Harbor 3, Woodbridge 0--April Ross had 14 kills and Heather Cullen had 12 for the Sailors, who won, 15-13, 15-9, 15-3. Newport Harbor (22-2, 7-0) took sole possession of first place with the victory. Kerry Song had 11 kills, Stacy Pearl had 26 assists and Clarie Hartstein had five blocks to lead Woodbridge (4-8, 2-4).

In the Orange League:

Valencia 3, Anaheim 0--Monika Jackley had 10 kills to help Valencia win, 15-9, 15-0, 15-9. The Tigers (11-3, 8-0) clinched their 11th consecutive Orange League title.

In Empire League boys’ cross-country:

Katella wins league title--Katella defeated Cypress (15-48) and Loara (15-48) to complete its league meets with a 5-0 record and its 10th consecutive league championship.

Katella’s Daniel Mejia, Tony Lozano and Juan Casas crossed the finish line together in 15 minutes 46 seconds. Katella’s last league loss was in 1989.

Loara (4-1) defeated Cypress (3-2), 20-35, to complete the triangular meet.

In the Freeway League:

Sonora 23, Sunny Hills 32--Jose Damian finished in 15:41 to give Sonora a first-place finish at Clark Park. Sunny Hills’ Daniel Lee was six seconds behind. Sonora, Sunny Hills and La Habra are tied at 4-1 in league play and will face off at Clark Park next Thursday at 3 p.m. to determine the champion.

In Empire League girls’ cross-country:

Cypress is league champion--Cypress swept Katella and Loara to complete a 5-0 league record and win the league title. Michelle Icban won the three-mile race for Cypress in 19:00.

In the Golden West League:

Santa Ana wins another title--Noemi Fuentes won the three-mile league final in 19:08, leading Santa Ana to its fourth consecutive title with 31 points. Tustin finished second with 40 points and Saddleback was third with 68. In the Pacific Coast League:

Corona del Mar wins--The Sea Kings took second through fourth places to finish undefeated in league at 5-0. Jessica Howard won the race for University (4-1) with a career-best time of 17:37 on the three-mile course at Mason Park. Howard’s time was the sixth-fastest in school history. Costa Mesa finished 0-5.

In Orange League girls’ tennis:

Brea Olinda 15 1/2, Magnolia 5 1/2--The Wildcats completed their fourth consecutive undefeated league-championship season. Annie James finished league at 30-0 and Kelly Scanlan went 29-1 for Brea (17-2, 10-0).

In the Pacific Coast League:

No. 6 Corona del Mar 10, University 8--Corona del Mar (11-5, 9-0) clinched the league title with help from Anne Yelsey and Nicole Charney, who swept in doubles, 6-2, 6-1, 6-1.

In South Coast League boys’ water polo:

El Toro 18, Mission Viejo 6--Brett McCleave had four goals and Trevor McMunn and Tim Craycraft had three each, helping the Chargers to the league title with a 4-0 record.
