VENTURA COUNTY ROUNDUP : Santa Paula : Volunteers Sought for Cleanup Day
The city of Santa Paula is seeking volunteers to participate in its Downtown Clean-Up Day on Saturday.
The event is in preparation for the Heritage Valley Festival the following weekend.
The Saturday cleanup will begin at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the post office, 111 S. Mill St., just north of City Hall. Volunteers will be assigned to several crews removing trash, litter and weeds from alleys and store lots throughout the city. The cleanup is expected to last until about 11 a.m.
Volunteers should wear comfortable shoes, work gloves and a hat. Those who own rakes, shovels, hoes or brooms are encouraged to bring them. Gasoline-powered weed cutters also are needed. The city will provide trash bags and refreshments.
