Sonora’s Rho Picks Stanford

Angela Rho of Fullerton, the No. 7-ranked girls’ golfer in the nation, said Monday she will attend Stanford next year.

Rho, a senior at Sonora High, chose the Cardinal over USC, UCLA and Texas. Stanford is the defending Pacific-10 conference champion and is ranked No. 9 in the 1999 Collegiate Golf preseason rankings.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Jana Ciperova, a 6-foot-0 forward, has transferred to UC Irvine.

Ciperova, who is from the Czech Republic, played the last two seasons at Florida International and averaged eight points last season.
