As the backup to Jerry Owens last season, wide receiver Joe Aloisi of Hart rarely played as a junior.

But he saw plenty of action last week against Quartz Hill. Especially in the end zone.

Three of Aloisi’s four receptions were for touchdowns.

The 5-11, 175-pound senior, who is the backup quarterback, is among seven new starters in Hart’s potent run-and-shoot offense. The newcomers proved they are capable of carrying on the high-scoring tradition.

“Everyone was saying we can’t match [Kyle] Boller and Owens and those guys,” Aloisi said. “Well, we’re not them. But I think we did a really good job.”
