El Camino 50, Fullerton 6--Former Edison High running back Darin Pope had 127 yards in 11 carries for visiting El Camino (2-0).

Mt. San Antonio 61, Santa Ana 10--Visiting Mt. San Antonio (1-1) scored 27 points the second quarter to take a 40-0 halftime lead.

In the Orange Empire Conference cross-country preview meet:

Santa Ana men win--Jose Herrera finished first in 20:28 over the 6,400-meter course at Irvine Regional Park to help Santa Ana win the meet with 33 points. Second-place finisher Alfonso Leon finished in 20:38 for Santa Ana.

Orange Coast women win--The Pirates, who had 17 points, were paced by first-place finisher Zoila Gomez (19:23), second-place finisher Berenice Carbajal (19:58) and third-place finisher Sinto Orozco (20:44).

In the Cuesta men’s water polo tournament:

West Valley 12, Golden West 7--In a rematch of last year’s state title game, West Valley scored five third-quarter goals to take an 11-6 lead in the tournament championship game. West Valley (9-0) is the defending state champion.
