Orange Lutheran scored the first six times it had the ball en route to a 44-22 victory over Agoura Oak Park Thursday night at Brea Olinda Stadium.

In the first half, the Lancers (3-0) had 312 yards in total offense to 34 for Oak Park and led 37-0 at halftime.

Lutheran quarterback Jason Whieldon, fresh off throwing six touchdown passes last week against Troy, threw three against Oak Park and rushed for three more.

Jon Talmage caught touchdown passes of 10 and 18 yards and contributed a 38-yard field goal in the big first half.

Whieldon used the option effectively with two four-yard touchdown runs in the first half.

Whieldon hit Scott Ausmus for a 53-yard touchdown pass play with 2:33 left in the second quarter to complete the first-half scoring. Ausmus caught the screen pass and broke four tackles for the score.

Whieldon completed the scoring in the opening drive of the third quarter when he scrambled 30 yards up the middle for the touchdown.

Oak Park (2-1) was able to take advantage of field position given by the Lancers, who turned over the ball on downs, to score three fourth-quarter touchdowns.

Lutheran, satisfied with the big first-half output, finished the game with its lowest scoring output of the season to win its home opener. It was also the team’s third consecutive game without a turnover.

Whieldon finished with 11 of 15 completions for 196 yards and rushed for 100 yards in 10 carries. Talmage caught six passes for 107 yards.
