Kim Shoots 69 to Win Girls’ Arizona Title

Hana Kim of Encino shot a two-under-par 69 to win the girls’ division of the Arizona Junior Classic at The Raven Golf Club in Phoenix on Sunday.

Kim, a senior at Brentwood High, had a two-round total of 140 to defeat second-place Anna Lee of Hacienda Heights.

Ina Kim, Hana’s sister and a junior at Harvard-Westlake, tied for 16th at 150.

Senior Roy Moon of Royal tied for second in the boys’ division with a six-under-par 138.

Moon, who has signed with UCLA, shot a 68 on Sunday after a 70 on Saturday.

Pansing Singhaseni, a sophomore at Beverly Hills High, won the tournament with a 137 total.

VOLLEYBALL

* Mike Kennedy of Highland High has committed to UC Santa Barbara.

Kennedy, a 6-foot-7 middle blocker, chose the Gauchos over Cal State Northridge.

FOOTBALL

Kicker Chris Sailer, fullback Craig Walendy and tight end Brad Greetis were among 43 players on the Los Angeles Dragons’ roster that was released Monday.

Sailer, a graduate of Notre Dame High, and Walendy, a graduate of Westlake, were teammates at UCLA.

Greetis played for Cal Lutheran in 1998 and ’99.

The Dragons will make their debut in the Spring Football League with a game against the Houston Marshals at the Coliseum on Saturday.

MOTORSPORTS

* Troy Rutherford of Ojai was second and Marc Hart of Ventura was third in the 30-lap Sprint Car Racing Assn. main event Saturday at Perris Auto Speedway.

Ricky Gaunt of Torrance won the race.

* Jerry Cain of Canyon Country finished 20th, five laps behind winner David Starr, in the Las Vegas 150 NASCAR Winston West Series race Saturday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
