FOUNTAIN VALLEY
The Orange County Water District, based in Fountain Valley, is testing a new underground system to place water in the underground basin beneath north and central Orange County. Underground channels may run beneath parking lots, parks and other areas near the Santa Ana River in Anaheim and Orange to refill the basin if the testing is successful.
The project will provide additional water to supplement the increasing demand for ground water in the county, which has prompted the district to find new ways to get additional replacement water into the ground-water basin.
