SOFTBALL
Lauren Gallardo, senior outfielder from El Dorado High, has signed to attend Point Loma Nazarene, El Dorado softball Coach Jill Matyuch said. Gallardo was an all-league selection last season for the Golden Hawks and is their team captain.
VOLLEYBALL
Chanda McLeod, a former all-county volleyball and basketball player from Marina High, has received an unconditional release from her scholarship at Arkansas. A freshman, McLeod started 24 of 37 matches for the Razorbacks and was among team leaders with 39 aces and 268 digs. Arkansas (30-7) advanced to the second round of the NCAA playoffs.
McLeod said she intends to transfer to a college with a style of play more suited to her abilities.
