An Anaheim man who police said was shot by his girlfriend’s other lover has died.
The victim, identified as Robert Higgason, 33, died late Monday from a gunshot to the head, Orange police Lt. Jim Anderson said.
“I think the term ‘love triangle’ depicts the situation,” Anderson said. “One woman was seeing two different men without their knowledge.”
Steven L. Lucas, 48, is being held at the Orange County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder. The charge is expected to be changed to murder, police said.
The shooting happened late Sunday on West Compton Avenue in Orange. Investigators said Lucas found out that the woman he had been seeing was also dating Higgason. Lucas went to Higgason’s home and shot him four times, police said.
Higgason was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where he died a day later.
